A Great First Day of Football
Although the Griffins fell short in their attempt against McDaniel, 28-9, it was a great day of football. The team entered the field and played hard in front of a crowd of 3,000 fans. Fans included students, employees, faculty, Dr. JoAnne Boyle, and even former Steeler player Dwight White. Throughout the game the bleachers rumbled with the noise of excited Griffin Fans.
The Griffins nine points came from a 41-yard field goal by Ray Wilkins, and a 65-yard touchdown play from Jordan Thomas to Bobby Nelson.
I think the wonderful sense of community you find at Seton Hill, was really apparent this weekend. It is early in the season and there is a lot of football left. I was able to get a quote from #91, Guy Rabich, about his feelings on SHU football. "I am very excited to be a part of a new program. We have a lot of great talent, and I look forward to a successful season."
If you missed this week's game, you can go next Saturday, September 17, when the Griffins face Ohio Dominican. The Griffins will be playing at Offutt Field with a 2:00 game time.
I would like to applaud the efforts of the Seton Hill Griffins players, coaching staff, trainers, and fans.
