Reflection on Honors Convocation

Yesterday was the annual Honors Convocation. Students were presented with awards and honors based on their academic performance last year. Edward Highberger, 2004-2005 Professor of the Year, was the guest speaker. Students described him as witty and motivating. Johanna Dreyfuss, a senior English major, said after attending the event, "I wish I had heard his inspiring words when I was a freshman."

Barbara Hinkle, Vice President for Enrollment Services, also commented on the event. She was impressed by the student involvement in the event. "There were a large number of students in attendance, and many of those students were willing to participate in the event."

Attending college is not an easy task, so students should be proud when they are recognized for their academic achievement. There will be another Honors Convocation in the Spring.

Congratulations!
