Morgan Spurlock Lecture and Weekend Activities

Last night Morgan Spurlock gave a lecture in Cecilian Hall. Spurlock was given an informative and comical introduction by Dr. Frank Klapak. The performance by Spurlock was also very entertaining and informative. Spurlock shed light on the fast food industry, obesity in America, his motivation for "Super Size Me," what it was like eating McDonald's for 30 days, and also what he has been doing since the movie. Spurlock finished the evening by answering questions from the audience, and also did a book signing after the show.

There are many activities this weekend on and off campus. Tonight, the Seton Hill Theatre presents the opening night of Fuddy Meers. The information on the show says the audience will "laugh 'til you lose your mind." The play shows the life of the main character Claire who suffers from psychogenic amnesia where she loses her memory every night. Seton Hill Theatre will perform “Fuddy Meers” October 7, 2005 - 8:00 PM; October 8 - 8:00 PM; October 9 - 2:00 PM; October 12 - 10:30 AM; October 13 - 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM; October 14 and 15 - 8:00 PM All performances are held in Reeves Theatre on Seton Hill's Greensburg, Pa. campus. Tickets are $12, or $10 each for groups of 16 or more. $5 student rush tickets are available five minutes before curtain.

Tomorrow the Seton Hill Griffins football team is home at Offutt Field. The Griffins will take on Tiffin University. Kick-off is at 2:00. Good luck Griffins!!!

Also, there is a trip to Washington D.C. tomorrow. During my freshmen year I attended this trip, and it remains one of my most memorable college experiences. Students are taken by bus to D.C. and given the day to explore the monuments, museums, and various other tourism attractions.

A complete list of activities for the weekend is listed on the calendar of events.

Have a good weekend, and don't forget to post a comment if you attend an event this weekend.
