[Home] [Act of Misdirection] [Frozen] [Cheeseshop][Caffeination]
As a fifteen-minute sample, "The Act of Misdirection," is the beginning of my disdain, focusing around the tricks of a magician, that I just couldn't quite get. I really don't know if I am deficient in the magician area or if I have issues with the terminology. I kept saying look, and it wouldn't show me anything but the audience, holding their breath for the next wonderful trick I was to perform, and the lighting which was blaring in my eyes. I did however, find out that I had a table in front of me--what joy is mine, but I couldn't do anything with it, besides look and push, which, the game said was not recommended. I decided to walk away, and the game said that I shouldn't walk away in the middle. My fifteen minutes were up. It was time to walk away and save my dwindling sanity. While I did like the subject matter of the game--magicians have always been a circus favorite--I found the game to be a trick in itself. What folly for a interactive fiction newbie! Maybe I will try something easier next time.
