Every Story & Poem, A vacation (Foster 19,20)

"In a sense, every story or poem is a vacation, and every writer has to ask, everytime, where is this one taking place ?" (Foster 19, 20 Pg. 163-164)

I really liked this quote because its true. Whenever you write a paper its like a vacation for your reader because where ever you take the reader in that paper, they have never been before and thats what you want and need to have happen when you write. You need to be able to take your reader to another level with your writing and thats what this quote is expressing to me.

Angela Palumbo:

I agree with this quote. The best stories are those that transport the reader to the setting. The reader should be able to smell the flowers, feel the cold inching up his/her spine or see the rolling hills in every direction. When I feel this kind of connection with a book, I can't put it down.

That is easier said than done I have found.

Deana Kubat:

i too agree with this. when you write about going somewhere you have to make sure that the place fits and then make sure that you describe it appealing to the senses that everyone can relate to. otherwise they may get lost of the journey there.
