Why is it actually title this. It is very confusing. There is nothing about love in this poem. I think it is more of a negative story than positive. When I think about love I think of positive things.
Do you think it is about love? Here is the poem to read. Let me know.
I now see how it can be related to some kind of love. I think that this guy could have some self esteem issues.
This story is very confusing. Why is it actually titled The Great Gatsby? There is nothing great about this guy. Everything about Gatsby’s life is a lie. The title is a complete contradiction of the character.
Another thing that bothered me in this story was Tom. He thought that a relationship between Daisy and Gatsby was a horrible thing. Meanwhile he has been having an affair for a while. What a hypocrite.
I now understand why Gatsby is Great. He sets a huge goal for himself and accomplishes that goal. Not many people can accomplish such a huge goal. Gatsby did, so I believe that is what makes him great.
A lot of things in this story shocked me. I can't believe the way that these people live. It is normal to be unhappy in your marriage and have a back up woman or man. This is crazy. I thought that back in these days people began to have fun with the Jazz era but i guess if they weren't having fun with their spouse they found another partner.
Another thing in the story that I couldn't believe was the physical abuse that Mytrle took from Tom. The worst was that no one said anything to him. They all just seemed to brush it off like nothing happened. That is crazy!
Does anyone ever work? All they ever do is go out to lunch, have tea, and go to parties. Their lives seem very unrealistic to me
I thought The Adding Machine was a humorous play. Poor Mr. Zero has a name that means nothing his actual worth at work is soon to be nothing. With new technologies his boss wanted to replace him with an adding machine. This makes him very unhappy. So he kills him.
A Jury of Her Peers seems like a very realistic story. Was this a true story? This story was great how it portrayed the women as smarter than the men. They firgured out what really happened to John Wright and why. So I thought that this was a great story because it seemed to me that it made women look intelligent.
The women in the neighborhood were at first against Mrs. Wright but then they understood what and why it happened.
The story Bernice Bobs her hair is a story that was written a long time ago but it relates to many adolesants today. Everybody wants to fit in but some people need alittle help doing this. Bernice wants to fit in and be popular so her cousin Marjorie helps her bring the talkative, outgoing, and atractive Bernice out. Every teenage girl wants to be popular so the author brings this to the audiences attention. Was this story shocking to the readers when they first read this? I think this would have been risky for the time when it was written.
Additional information on fitting in.
