Spray em away, the no-carb way

August 25, 2004

The food spray diet launches on September 1, 2004. "Spray your pounds away!". Now people can loose waist and not taste?

Ok, flavored liquid. That is exactly what I want to put on my food instead of .. well ... this diet is supposed to take out the dressings, dips, gravies, marinades, sauces, and sweets out of your diet by replacing them with a spray alternative.

My opinion: If you have to blindfold me to get me to eat it, then it isn't worth eating. I'm not saying that all the food I eat looks the greatest, especially depending on where I buy it. I am saying that when I sit down for a meal. I don't want to have to cook my food and then douce it with spray items.

I'm picturing it now. Sitting down at the dinner table with the family and little Jimmy says, "Mom, will you please pass me the ranch spray." "Sure son, just don't spray too much. I wouldn't want your food to get soggy."

So the cartoon with this post is a joke, but the post itself isn't. According to eMediaWire, there is actually a diet like this coming out!

There are three basic 'spray groups'. The veggie spray, the food spray, and the dessert spray. All the sprays are no carb, no calorie, very low in fat (if any), and very low in sodium (if any). The sprays replace existing 'high carb' or 'high calorie' food toppings, sauces, condiments, cheeses, creams, dips, marinades, with a no carb, no calorie alternative. Along with the food spray diet meal plan, 3 meals a day plus snacks, dieters can spray their pounds away!

The article is poking fun at the no-carb meals. This is the newest in no-carb dieting.
