Sonnets -- Jerz: Intro to Literary Study (EL150)

Alright.. I don't really understand poems and I do not definately know how to analyse them especially this one written by Shakespeare, Let me not to the marriage of true minds.

Of course, this poem is about true love and how nothing can take true love away. But at the end of the poem he says

If this be error and upon me prov'd,
I never writ, nor no man ever lov'd.

This time he is saying if he was wrong about true love being so wonderful then he never writ such a poem.

He also says
Love is not times fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
within his bending sickle's compass come

I think right here, rosy lips and cheeks are representing a young woman, youth. And that even when time passes, true love will still exist.
