Response to "The War on Terrorism"

Jerz: STW II: Agenda Item 3-1

This comic strip was probably the best thing I have read all year. I can tell that it was very one sided, as the author clearly wanted the reader to see something that most are blind to. Although it was a bias piece, it was interesting, creative, and above all, very informative. I learned so much about our country and what really is going on. I was immediately drawn to this piece for the mere fact that it was not another essay that rambled on and was dry and boring. This used humor to relay very important points to the general public. I would highly recommend this piece to anyone who is oblivious to what is happening over in the Middle East and to anyone who is a Bush supporter. As hard as it is to hear that our beloved homeland is not all it is cracked up to be, we need to hear it. More than that, we need to know it.

My agenda item, or thesis for this article is: America is the creator of the world’s problems. It took 9/11 to see that our government and military target the rest of the world and create more problems than any citizen is aware of.

I think that there are many people in the United states that are just plain oblivious to everything that this great country does, but there are plenty that know we do horrible things to other countries only to benefit ourselves. I think that the government and military are working hand in hand and with that they have little concern to what happens

I kind of agree with you and i kind of don't agree with you especially when you say that America is the creator of the world's problem. It is definitely not possible that the whole of America is the problem. becasue that is what your thesis statement is sounding like. You cannot say that every citizen of America is responsible for what has happened or whatever will happen all over the world. there are only some that are to blame and that is casuing the problem

I don't think that America is the creator of the world's problems, I think that everyone bring their problems among themselves by the things they do. I do agree that it took a devastating event like 9/11 for us to see all the problems that are within the US.

I defintely agree with you Caroline. I really think that 9-11 woke up our government to a certain extent but obviously not to the total degree it should have. We have a president who went over to another country right away becuase it was the "right" thing to do. I personally think we are over there for the wrong reasons and I think we are creating more problems that we are eventually going to have to pay for.

It was a better piece for the way it was layed out. I enjoyed it too.
