Page 98: Repetition creates unity and emphasis.

I mean, I'm not going lie I overuse repetition in ALL of my papers. It's just that it is the easiest way to get the readers attention and keep it. By repeating details the writer wants the reader to pick up on something - its the easiest way to get your point across - I love it.

I think we all know that no matter what the writing task, it's never finished, it's just that the deadline comes and we have to turn in what we've got. So it's good to be aware of what shortcuts we use. Having said that, I'll point out that "easiest" and "best" aren't synonyms. Have you heard the saying "Fast, Cheap, Good. Pick two."
