Loverbook
What makes lovemaking and reading resemble each other most is that within both of them times and spaces open, different from measurable time and space. (Calvino, If on a winter's night a traveler 156)
Wow, what an intense passage (not to mention a very mature and thought-provoking treatment of sex, which is often mishandled in fiction). This reminded me of an early draft of my personal essay, in which I tried to argue that books are like lovers (that bit still made it into my final draft, but I never expanded upon it the way I did in the draft).

Not only is that an instense passage on Calvino's part, but quite a subject to tackle. I like your opinion on sex in fiction also.I have read sex scenes in some fiction books and they are usually tacky or too over romantic. Nice perception.
