Oedipus Pt. 2

Sophocles, Oedipus the King (Finish) -- Drama as Literature (EL 250)

I can't really put some lines from the play in here because I liked the whole part of when Jocasta was telling Oedipus that he was indeed the killer. This is the kind of thing I like to read... well not killing and murder but suspense and mystery lol. Even though we knew that Oedipus killed his father we still didn't know how (except for those few that read the whole thing). Also just reading it reminded me so much of a talk show or a soap opera.

I wrote about the first part being all about irony. I still think that this whole play is about irony. But reading the end I also came to the decision that it's also deals with destiny. He was destined to not know who his real parents were. It's appealing to me how different destiny is now and back in the time when sophocles wrote this.
