Isn't that a coincidence?!

Treadwell, Machinal (Finish) -- Drama as Literature (EL 250)

Husband: Record production
Young woman: Girl turns on gas.
Husband: Sale hits a million-
Young woman: Woman leaves all for love-
Husband: Market trend steady-
Young woman: Young wife disappears-

I found that this play all along basically tells you what the young woman is thinking and gives you alot of foreshadowing. Do you think that the author wanted the characters to give away the ending, or for another reason, like a coincidence? I really enjoyed it though. It made me think what exactly she was going to do to her husband. There also is another quote where the young woman says "Woman finds husband dead." I really dont know what Treadwell's reasoning behind her putting in these very hintful quotes from the newspaper the young woman was reading.
