Definently exercise caution when on Myspace, there are so many potential dangers out there, perps. waiting to gets their hands on children,if I were a parent I would not let a chiild under the age of fifteen on such a sight, where some use it to communicate, others use it to their advantage for no good.

Once again, this article addresses the unknowing parents. Many parents are not aware of myspace, facebook, online journals etc. At first my parents had no idea what myspace was, and I knew they wouldn't approve of it. Once they did find out about it, they were majorly concerned about what information I had on mine. I finally had to show them that my address nor personal information was posted. In the end, it's good that they are concerned but mine is fairly dull in the personal info field. As for the oblivious parents whose children are placing provocative pictures of themselves, I only wish them much luck and patience when they do find out.

I don't have my own MySpace, but I know plenty of people who do. Frankly, I've no desire to get one, which I have a feeling pleases my mother quite a bit. She's terrified of online blogging in general and with all the things that have been said and shown on MySpace, she's even more terrified of my becoming involved inthat sort of 'scene'.

If I were a parent, I wouldn't mind my child having one, but I'd be sure I knew what was going on as well. Maybe it would be pushing my boundaries a little, but with all the dangers out there, it would be well worth it.

The idea of your child being able to connect to anyone from anywhere in the world is a terrifing idea. I think that parents need to be aware of the dangers and educate their children of them, not prohibit them from exploring such technologies. However, there should be time limit as to how long a child is permited to sit at a computer each day. Boundries do need to be drawn somewhere.
