E-Mail Etiquette in Academia

Writing e-mail to friends is obviously not the correct formula that you would use to e-mail a professional such as a potential employer or a professor.Dialogue should be choosen carefully when mailimg the above mentioned,one mistake can cost you a job or a lower grade. Etiquette for people who use e-mail consistantly serves as a guideline so they can convey their messages in a way people can understand them.

There is definitely a distinction between casual online messages and notes to your boss or professor. I get really annoyed when people use weird acronyms that take you hours to decode; I think there should be a limit on many words you can abbreviate. If everyone would just follow online ettiquette, at least most of the time, communication would be much less of a hassle.
