Hideaway Horror
I am attempting to make a IF game about four teens that are driving out West from Pennsylvania. They break down in the middle of nowhere, somewhere in Kansas. Each has to come up with a direction on where to go as they have no road maps and it is beginning to rain. The right path will lead you out of the state of confusion and on your way. There are three wrong ways, one will get you into a cave where at first there is salvation from the rain, the cave is dark and eerie a presence of some sort is around, but what? Type in l" look around " and a gigantic sloth type cave dweller attacks the four and devours them.
Wrong move 2) the four walk a half mile down the road and stumble upon a phone booth, you calll a tow truck driver , tell them a whereabout location , he shows up pulls out an ax and then rips the haeds off of three of the teens leaving one to torture .
Wrong move 3) Deciding to stay in the car with the possibility of somebody driving by to help can turn out to be a very bad move. You are in the car as you hear a sound from the outside, you get out to inspect it as a tall man is dressed in all black rain gear, he is not speaking, you attempt to talk to that person as he grabs you and takes you into the wood where he crucifies you to a tree and smears your body with raw meat for the bears to eat when they get hungry, and there are a lot of them around.
The man goes back to the car where there are three left wondering where their buddy had vanished off to. The man outside begins to weld the doors shut to the car and then douses the vehicle with gasoline, lights it and walks away.
Move 4) choose to start walking South direction as you spot a vahicle driving down the road, it contains a young couple with child traveling out West cas well. You flag them down as they stop under much hesitation, you explain what has happened, they accept to give you and your friends a ride. Your free. You made it to your destination.
The game is controled by thinking rationally and not taking wrong paths, once you take the wrong way you are killed in some sadistic way, take the right way and live.

I want to write about a group of 6 getting stuck in an abandoned Wal-Mart (or some other lovely discount store) for a night or week, depending on what choices you make. You can choose who your character teams up with to try and get out because the others will drive you crazy. Pick one to buddy up with.
A) a grandma that is mostly deaf B) Steroid Steve, who will keep you in shape at least, C) Jenny Jupiter, a foot model and Paris Hilton wannabe, D) Todd the hot dog champ. Huge dork, but is renowned for his hot dog eating skills and the fact that he cannot stop stuttering E) Chrissy the soccer mom, who wears vests and loves cats.
Your character is a college student who’s working as a Walmart stock boy and part-time elf for a very alcoholic Santa Clause. You were sent to this location to help for Christmas, when meanwhile, you are given the keys to open and the others are there for a huge sale they read about, even though it’s been shut down before anyone even found out (I know it’s a stretch, help!) because it was a call-girl hang out. You want to get out or you’ll be doomed to Walmart elfdom forever.
Choose your partner well, because whoever you choose to bond with in the toiletries section will affect the ending you have. Once you pick your partner, you’ll have to figure out how to eat, entertain yourselves, and how to combat the other crazy people, who will cause you drama unless you find that right tools to bribe them with. After successfully dealing with survival issues, you will have 3 options of getting out. 1. Get Steroid Steve to break down some doors, but alarms may go off and if you are suspected of robbery, you may go to jail. 2. Use Jenny to txt various people or flash the cars passing by the abandoned parking lot to get possible rescuers. 3. You, grandma, and soccer mom manage to fake grandma’s death somehow so you’ll all get some money or maybe be heroes in the end. This is all very sketchy and doesn’t make sense yet, but if I can some ways of why they can’t get out of Walmart in the first place this will all come together, I hope.
Posted by: Erin at November 7, 2006 09:49 PMThe type of game I want to create is along the lines of you as the character are trying to make it to a wedding on time. You just so happen to be the maid of honor in this wedding. It is your duty to get to the ceremony, but on time before the bride walks down the aisle. However, there are a few blockades preventing you from leaving the house. You are not showered, dressed, and you have a screaming baby to tend to. The babysitter still isn’t at your house, so it is your choice if you want to call the sitter and complain, or take the baby with you. After making that choice and tending to the infant, you’ll eventually get showered and dressed. Then you will have to drive to the church with the directions the bride and groom mailed you with a screaming baby in the backseat. If you ever actually get to the church, you cannot proceed in with a crying baby, so you have to find some way to calm it down. This game will be based on “virtual” responsibility and if you as the player can handle the stress. The ending result will being able to lead your best friend down the aisle or gaining the name of the “deadbeat maid of honor.” It’s your game, you choose!
Posted by: Tiffany Gilbert at November 7, 2006 10:50 PMErin, I'm sorry I didn't see your question earlier. There is no slot on Turnitin.com, but posting it here is fine. (If you've blogged it or just bring it to class, that's fine too.)
