Final Exam (20%)

Comprehensive final exam. (In our regular classroom, Dec 15, 3:30-5:50.)

Closed book, closed notes.

Questions on the exam could cover any text we looked at in class, though I'll tell you right now that I don't plan to ask any questions on texts that were only presented in the first lit slam. (Texts presented during the second lit slam are fair game.)

The best way to study for this exam is to re-read carefully every short work (poem or short sory), and at least refresh your memory of the full-length works, by skim-reading each chapter, slowing down to re-read important events.

Of course you aren't responsible for remembering every idea that was ever raised over the course of the term. But you will be asked to write, thoughtfully and intelligently, on some of the important issues that we have discussed this term.

* You might also search the blog website for key terms, and read what your peers wrote to jog your memory.

* There will be some matching and identification, and short-answer questions, particularly on works from the second half of the term (including The Girl of the Golden West).
