Game Alert

The expansion pack to the popular RTS game Rise of Nations is to be released (hopefully) sometime this week or next. I look forward to playing as the Lakota. Or having a democratic aztec civilization that defeats Germany in WWII. :-D

Playing with the Internet

Too many Os in Google? If you mistype the popular search engines name (much as I do) with too many Os, where do you end up?

-Add one extra O >Gooogle< takes you right to google.com, the proper spelling.

-Add another >Goooogle< and apparently you win a "Virtual Reality Casino". Lucky me.

-It isn't until you surpass six Os >Goooooogle< that the site changes to something called TopBill.com which refuses to load within two minutes.

-Seven Os takes you to a soon to be built site, the url is reserved but " t'ain't nuthin' thar' ".

-Plunk another O down and you arrive (after a blink) to Nature's Rx, where you can eat various plant life convienently distilled into tiny white M & Ms.

-Yet another O (is this annoying yet?) and you get, wonder of wonders, why hasn't this happened yet, a porn site (or close to it, 1 link away)...

-Ten Os, unexpectedly, is still up for grabs.

The Silmarillion

Don't get me wrong, I like the Lord of the Rings and everything, but even the die-hard fans have trouble with this book. I made the horrible mistake of attempting to read the entire thing during Christmas break.

In three days.

With a sinus infection.

Basically when I had finished it I had the odd notion that I was related to a Numenorean and my name was Elrohir Eledhwen or something. I don't remember much from the book and wonder if I hallucinated most of it.

THE ENTIRE SILMARILLION OF J. R. R. TOLKIEN IN ONE THOUSAND WORDS -> Fairly funny, though I doubt anyone but die-hard fans will recognize anything until the bit about "OF THE RINGS OF POWER AND THE THIRD AGE".

And FYI, the Return of the King on DVD is only one day less than a month away.

finally

Lousy Penny Arcade made me hungry for Pocky(hunh?). Wonder if Joys or Suncoast have any in stock? My favorite is strawberry, but I haven't had any since last summer.
