Ahh... the power of Shakespeare

Titles? William Faulkner liked The Sound and The Fury. Aldous Huxley decided on Brave New World. Agatha Christie chose By the Pricking of my Thumbs, which statement Ray Bradbury completed with Something Wicked This Way Comes.

The fact that so many authors have referenced Shakespeare in the very titles of their novels is a testament to the mans incredible impact upon society. I think it would be interesting to ask each and every one of these authors, "At what point did you choose your title?" For example, did the three witches in Macbeth play a role in establishing Ray Bradbury's initial insiration to write Something Wicked This Way Comes, or did the title merely occur as an afterthough after he'd almost completely developed the storyline without it? Regardless, of Bradbury's answer; however, the influence Shakespeare's influence is there, in the text and in the title.
