Microsoft Late to the Punch... Again
Is it just me or does Microsoft tend to jump on the bandwagon of internet trends a little too late? Microsoft, 5 years after RSS had been readily available, announces the release of a product that will more readily support RSS (codename: Longhorn).

The project code name was “longhorn,” but they changed it to Windows Vista. The new operating system should be out in 2006 (a little behind schedule). Here’s an article about the new OS:

Well it was the codename—within Microsoft’s offices, I don’t know if it was going to be the actual name of the product.
I mean they had Windows (and office) 95 Windows 98 and Office 97 (then 98) Windows ME and Office 2000 (2002 as well) Windows XP, Office XP and Office 2003 Windows ??? and Office 2004.

That’s weird. (I guess Microsoft ran out of creative names for its products!) ;’)

Interestingly enough, Evan, Longhorn was the name of the OS to come out after Windows XP.
Windows: Longhorn was supposed to come out in 2004….
