Du-Shomped
"He 'claimed the hammer attack was a work of performance art.'"
-Grand Text Auto
Wow. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I think I'll cry considering the BBC got Duchamp's movement of art wrong. Repeat after me kids, POSTMODERN ART... The fact that he renounced any connection to Dada art, surrealism, and any modernist art cannot be ignored. If you haven't had an acquaintance with Duchamp, you simply must. He redefined what we consider art and is the greatest inspiration for my research paper concerning IF and art. He literally made fun of previous notions of art. Check this work of art out. (LHOOQ is a French abbreviation for "Elle a chaud au cul," she's got a hot ass.)
Duchamp used wit to get his point across, and though his art is often criticized, you can't deny his profound influence on what art is today.

You know what they say.. if the only tool you know how to use is a hammer, everything starts to look like nail. Maybe Duchamp was just being practical.
