A Jury of her Peers

While reading, "A Jury of her Peers" I think that the main theme was friendship, not murder. "A Jury of her Peers" showed how two women stuck together for women that they thought they knew and understood. There is no reason why they did this, just the fact that they did. I think it was a great way to show the power of friendship. Minnie and Martha haven't been friends for years and when Minnie got in trouble Martha still stuck up for her. She felt bad that she did not go and visit her long lost friend.

What's odd with this story is that Mrs. Peters knew the secret alos and kept it. She did not know Minnie and was not friend with her, but for some reason she protected her and wanted to help. It shows how sympathy and pity for someone can make you act in irrational ways. I think it's a great story and stands for many things.
