Christmas on the Hill 1949

Christmas Carolers

The Lantern Ceremony is a lost tradition.  The juniors acted as “big sisters” to the incoming freshman, and than the next year, the now-seniors passed the lantern, and the “big sister” tradition, onto the now-sophomores.

President’s Reception.  This photograph, taken in 1958, is of the President’s Reception.  Incoming freshman meet and shake hands with every faculty member and the president of the college.
This tradition is still alive today.

Tree Planting Ceremony: This picture was taken in 1936.  The Tree Planting Ceremony is a tradition that Seton Hill University students still practice today.
