In my point of view, I think the woman in the Yellow Wall-paper is seriously suffering form some sort of depression and nervousness. Her husband has no consciousness about his wife’s loneliness and mental condition though he is physician. He treats his wife like one of his ordinary patients, and he doe not realize how he is important to his wife as he plays in a husband role. With the ignorance of her husband and his sister about her feeling, plus there is nothing to to do in that room expect staring at the yellow wallpaper. Even a normal healthy man could get depressed. Obviously it led her condition to be worse. As her husband, he should put more care on her wife’s feeling and try to change their location to a new and refresh environment that make her feel less depressed and lonely.

Nice blog.... Do you think that her husband moved his wife to the countryside to hide from the probing eyes of society who expect everyone to have the perfect house, life, and family? Maybe he was so ashamed of his life that he locked his wife away to hide her. He also seemed to be wrapped up in work and stayed away from home alot. Was he having an affair with his secretary in town or was he trying to stay submerged in work to forget his problems at home? I disagree with you that he treats her like all of his other patients. I think he denies that she even has a problem because he is a doctor and he is upset that his wife has a condition and worse that he cant fix it. He treats her more like a child than a patient or a wife. Well thats just what i was thinking. Let me no where you agree or disagree with me! :)
