This peom by Robinson was my favorite. I have never read his woks before or even heard of him for that matter. I think I liked this peom so much because it was such a shock. Then I began to analyze it. Things aren't always what they seem. Everyone perceived him as perfect...and perfectly happy because he was attractive, and wealthy. People envied him. But he was hiding something. Money...popularity...maybe he was looking for something more...love perhaps??? This poem shows us that despite what's on the outside, we are made up of the events that happen in our lives. We are a result of our own perceptions...noone ele's. So we can see this man as perfectly stable and happy...but something....SOMETHING made him commit suicide. It is intriuging because we (the reader) want to know WHY!
