I stepped outside to pick up the mail, and was greeted by several white fannies in the parking lot by the baseball field. Apparently there is no locker room for it, ergo high-school boys must change their underpants by their cars, facing the road? Very odd, and rather shocking.
I'll just say that a few of them need the six-second spray tan that I so enjoy.
The Red Hat ladies are advertising on Blogger. Isn't that odd? You can buy hats and tee shirts, according to the click-through.
I guess that's it for my exciting day. Hot dog!
Posted by Julie Young at May 12, 2004 07:53 PMNo one needs a spray tan. I maintain that you shouldn't discriminate against people or think they are ugly for their skin color, so I shall maintain my paleness (along with my lack of wrinkles and skin cancer). Sorry to get argumentative, but that is like my number one pet peeve of the summer.
Posted by: Donna R. Hibbs at May 13, 2004 07:24 AMAh, but Donna, I like to be somewhat tan during the summer, even though I opt for the sunless variety. :)
Posted by: Julie at May 13, 2004 12:48 PMWell it's fine if you're doing it for you, but saying that other people who are pale "need" a tan is the stigma I am fighting. The rest of the world can spray on a tan if they like, but I don't want to be made to feel inadequate if I choose not to. Eh; I've been fighting it for years and haven't gotten anywhere yet.
Posted by: Donna at May 13, 2004 01:44 PMI do agree with Donna in that no one needs a spray tan and I too prefer to be wrinkle and cancer free however the colors of most summer clothing is light (white, pink, yellow, etc.) and it looks better with darker skin.
Actually Julie...I'm just bitter because now you're darker than me!
Posted by: Sarcasmo Jr. at May 13, 2004 04:30 PMWho ever would picture JMY to be the darkest skin in a crowd of girls ...
Guess it's a reality now.
Anyone think I should try the sunless stuff? (Being that I sit in a cubical for the majority of the day and haven't seen sun since SUNday.)
Posted by: Brian at May 13, 2004 09:00 PMHehe, I don't like tanning much either, but in years past when I've had slight encounters with the sun (i.e. softball season = tanlines), I've used bottle tan (Coppertone is my fave, and it's cheaper than stupidly laying in a glass tube for torturous hours).
I commend all of you on your aversion to the "real" tanning--we'll be younger looking and healthier in the end! :^D
Posted by: Karissa at May 13, 2004 09:43 PMThe funny thing about these white bums is that their arms are impeccably tanned. Either way, don't change your shorts by the road! ;)
