| Rationale | PrefaceAbout this projectThis work of hypertext fiction was created for EL 230, Writing for the Internet. This is my first venture into hypertext writing; I am new to this whole "non-linear" thing. I modeled my piece after an ordinary travelogue -- a travelogue that becomes not so ordinary after I made it more interactive by adding hyperlinks to the story. I link within my site and outside of my site. Off-site links will open in a new window for your reading ease. Clearly, as a youth, Choose Your Own Adventure books influenced me. About the textThe "story" is best described as a fictional memoir based on actual events. The names have not changed to protect the innocent, and no one was harmed in the making of our journey. Not even the kind ticket agents at American Airlines. Begin the journey! |
