...and the laugh shall set you free!

Yes, I'm back in business. It is true: I can talk once again!

After four days of silent gesticulation, pantomiming, mouthing words, and whispering, I can speak.

How and when did this miracle come about? Today when I was at work, around 4pm, my supervisor made me laugh, and I laughed heartily. Once I finished laughing, I said one of my favorite lines: "you crack me up." And I heard it, and she heard it, and I said something else aloud, just to check. I can speak.

I'm pretty sure that in my history of laryngitis, this is the shortest amount of time I've had it. Previously, I can recall a minimum of about six days.

Sure, it still hurts to talk a little, and I'm saving my voice for Tuesday (that's the day of the NECWB Conference, for which I am an intern). But today is the first time I have been able to really speak and be understood.

Maybe laughter really is the best medicine.

When I came into the room this afternoon something startled me.... I HEARD A VOICE! -Not a whisper- but a voice, a real honest to God, audible voice!!! Kiz could speak again!!! I'm so happy that you are well again Kiz...no more laryngitis, okay? It's a rule. We miss your voice too much!! Have a great time at the conference!

Thanks, Tiff :^)
Not being able to talk in general bothered me, but not talking in class... well, that's so uncharacteristic of me that I couldn't stand it anymore (hence the whispers on Thursday). Be warned that I am back in business--mwhaha =:'}
