What's in a B?

I'm having trouble grasping the concept of a "B." I've never had one before in my life, so I decided to look it up. Here's what I got from dictionary.com:

B
n. pl. b's or B's also bs or Bs

1. The second letter of the modern English alphabet.
2. B The second best or second highest in quality or rank: a mark of B on an English theme.
3. Music. The seventh tone in the scale of C major or the second tone in the relative minor scale.
4. B One of the four major blood groups in the ABO system. Individuals with this blood group have the B antigen on the surface of their red blood cells, and the anti-A antibody in their blood serum.

*~*~*~*~*~*
Okay, I guess the only definition that kind of helps me is the part about "second best or second highest in quality of work."

I got my first B, everyone. I'm still not sure how I feel about it, but I'm dealing with it.

It's not a failure in my eyes, although all along that's what I thought I'd feel, is failure.

I didn't fail.
I haven't failed.
I'm not going to fail.

B is just a letter I'm not used to seeing associated with grades and my name. I did the best I could, and that's really been a task comsidering that I've persevered despite some personal setbacks.

So I got a B.
And Julie and I went out to celebrate with icecream and onion rings last night : )

When Julie said you were going out for ice cream, I ate some as well since it sounded like such a good idea. Congrats on the end of another semester :-)

Never fear, Karissa. You'll always be "A++" material to me. I am happy to see that you are dealing with your B in a constructive manner.

Constructive. That's one word for it. Pigging out on icecream might not be too constructive... but blogging about it seems to fit that a little better.

Hey Karissa,
If you're talking about the class we both have on Monday, then I'd have to sympathize with you, I too received a B (wow, this is almost like alcoholic anonymous even though I have no idea what it's like because I'm not an AA member, but it's the whole admitting or 'coming out' I guess...) On the positive side, you'll never have the same pressure of maintaining all A's. From what I've heard, future employers would not only look at our transcripts but also our experiences, so make the most of it!

Change of Subject: I wrote a mini dialogue in my blog, can you share your inputs on it, the title is "Applesauce!" Thank you!
