Don't be-"witched" and most certainly don't be a baby seal
Apparently there are some Halloween costumes that just should not be...
In Manitoba, Canada, children are directed not to dress as polar bears or seals. (Thanks to the D. Barry site.)
There are likely not a lot of children anywhere in Canada begging their parents to dress up like polar bears or seals this Halloween. But costume selection takes on unique significance in this northern Manitoba town, where the predator and prey disguises are definite no-nos in the midst of the Western Hudson Bay polar bear population's annual migration to the ice.
And be careful you don't offend anyone with your costume.
The district says Halloween celebrations and children dressed in Halloween costumes might be offensive to real witches."Witches with pointy noses and things like that are not respective symbols of the Wiccan religion and so we want to be respectful of that," said Hansen.
So if someone dresses as a bishop, an angel, or even Jesus I have the right to complain since I'm Christian, right? *sigh*
Happy Halloween?
I bought green tights. That makes me happy...
