Splitting hairs
I got my hairs cut.
All of them.
(Again.)
It used to be elbow length (and that's LONG, considering that I have what appear to almost be disproportionally long arms...)
Then last March my roomie had talked me into a bit shorter, and some layers. That was a bit drastic from my insanely long all-one-length style I'd sported for nearly half my life, but I liked it.
I even got it cut again, shorter, after my 19th birthday this summer.
And now I just couldn't take it anymore. It's the shortest my hair has been in more than seven years. Shoulder length with layers.
Actually, when I graduated from high school, the joke was that nothing on me what short--nothing, not even my hair. Haha, very funny, especially when someone could comment on my "long face" with my long hair, long arms, legs, fingers, toes... Yeah.
But it's a lighter style. I could have just had the hair stylist hack it all off. When you're looking at a new 'do, the "short" section essentially means that you have a postage stamp to dry after the shower. "Medium" length is what I consider short--that's above the shoulders, but not the "pixie" cut that was famed a few years ago. And their definition of "long"? No no no no no. My hair was long--the hair they show on models labeled as "long" is what I call medium... MY hair was long.
And heavy.
So I think getting that weight off will help my neck, too. Just think about the torture of a ponytail. *eesh*

I can't wait to see your hair. One of these days you will get a salon-bonafide short cut, I know it. ;-)
I have dabbled with the idea of getting my lengthy locks chopped again, but I am getting really attached. I like my layers; they thin your hair out without actually thinning it, which means you can still have long hair without nasty trips to the chiropractor.

Hehe, thanks to the both of you. I should have known that my "bests" would respond first to something like a haircut--especially with my hair being most nearly a sacred object in my family...
Amanda, I don't doubt that I'll one day have a sophisticated chop cut--but it'll be so cute that I'll just have to grow it long in order to get it cut again!
Marian, I don't have my digital back yet---but I will when I see Amanda tomorrow! :) Perhaps I'll email pics rather than posting them... (And I adore that you absolutely cannot spell for beans. LOL!)
