Ardent Snappy Designing

Sometimes I have to remind myself that I'm doing this because I like it.

Other than that, I frolic through fields of HTML and CSS with somewhat of an attitude *snaps fingers*, showing it how to behave to get "the look."

Yeah, it's like training for a runway show. That catwalk is fierce, and not everyone can make it...

But I've had a -great- time designing my friends' blogs.

After I did my own, I took care of Tiffany like she'd asked before break.

Then Stefanie asked how I could spruce things up. (I wish I would have taken a screenshot of a "before" on Stef's...)

And finally, so I didn't feel like I was leaving her out, I offered to brighten Amanda's blog. Of course, Amanda wanted "professional," so I supplied some links for ideas and ran with what she wanted.

I'll admit, Amanda's style was the most difficult to achieve, but I did it and now I'm glazed with pride.

Stef just emailed me to ask if I could give her three columns, now that she's seen Tiffany and Amanda's new looks. A couple of tosses with the codes and *voila!* three columns.

I'm thinking about adding a section of links displaying a sort of "personal design résumé" and then adding the resources that I've accumulated over time. This would take up quite a bit of space, though...

Anyone have some time to show Karissa how to make one of those "About" pages? I'd make mine into more than that...

I've learned a LOT through just playing with the codes enough to get what I want. Mike joked that I should charge for my services... I'm not sure how I feel about that. I'm not ruling it out, but somehow that feels odd.

I -am- a style junkie. And zealous one at that.

Hey Karissa,

I recently made myself a handy About Me page for my blog... I did it in Dreamweaver, but it's easy enough that I would be glad to show you how I did it. Keep up the good work! You've inspired me to learn how to make the design of my blog better.

By the way, I'm writing this with wi-fi in a Best Western motel on my way to DC! CRRRAZY!

I can help you make one with Frontpage Xpress, if Dreamweaver doesn't suit....I just made my page today: http://blogs.setonhill.edu/AmandaCochran/aboutac.html.

Dr. Jerz has a free download of Frontpage Xpress on this page: http://blogs.setonhill.edu/DennisJerz/EL236/2004/09/22/index.php.

Follow his directions, and you are on your way to web authorship. Go Karissa!

Thanks so much, you two!

(Woah, I hope to read all about the inauguration on your blog, Mike!)

Amanda, I'll have to find some time to play with Frontpage Xpress... Once I'm done tweaking the life out of everyone else's blogs, haha! (And with classes starting soon, I'll have to make it something to relax by ;)

That is a great design Karissa! You have to show me how to do those moseovers in MT. I have your sugar packets (about 4 or 5 all from different places in my travels). Can't wait to come back home (and back into the blogosphere! I have barely had time to post 1 entry!) See you around, everyone!

A very easy way to modify CSS Templates in Firefox is the extension for Firefox known as EditCSS. It lets you see your changes in Firefox in "real-time".

Evan!! You remembered my sugarpackets from Monaco?! I'm thrilled. Thank you!

To all--thanks for the tips on the possible new edition. I hope to have it up before the beginning of February, but no promises (class is starting toute suite!).
