The "i" of the Tiger
Okay, so I've decided I'll be getting a Mac.
When? With what money?
Well, I'm working. I don't know when I'll have enough money to get it, but I totally know that I'm getting an iBook. Before I had debated over whether or not I should get a Mac Mini or just shell out the bucks for an iBook, but there are a few factors that have made this decision an easy one.
Number One: SHU is getting smart about wireless. Finally. (My pal Amanda broke the story on the Setonian online; way to scoop 'em, dear!)
Number Two: We are also getting wireless at my house. *again* Finally. After reading about Mike's adventures with wi-fi, and learning about its seemingly mystical powers over the common spaghetti-bound desktop I've talked my parents into the wonders of wi-fi.
Number Three: Having not only a laptop but also a Mac means that I'll be getting the newest operating system (of which Mike informed me) called Tiger. The present one, Jaguar, is impressive, and I haven't even been able to explore it entirely, but I think it'll be an added plus to have Tiger when I purchase my iBook.
I've already scoped out what all I want in my laptop, and Apple has even called me about the student discount and whatnot :-) So I'm pretty excited about the whole ordeal. And I really have Mike to thank for this one. I'm being rescued from the deplorable desktops.
