You've Got Mail. Not Email... but Mail!
Email has got competition. Finally.
How?
Well, the USPS is getting its act together with the demands for instant (or semi-instant, which is really just patient) gratification.
I ordered a little something for a certain someone on Sunday, and I got it on TUESDAY. And that's without paying anything extra for shipping!
I mailed four issues of Eye Contact to Julie Young on Wednesday. I didn't pay extra for postage, just the norm because there was no rush to get it there. (She'd waited a year to get an issue from her senior year... I think a few days won't hurt.) But lo, and behold! It arrived YESTERDAY! One day in the mail!?
I sent a birthday card in the mail on Wednesday to Mike's Aunt Marian (who may be the cutest lady I've ever met in my life, who also happens to make spectacular French toast ;-) Well, he talked to Aunt Marian yesterday and she GOT THE CARD. Already.
I've gained a little faith in the mailing services of our country. I guess they're picking up the pace with demands for today's instant lifestyle.
All this when I just started to experience some issues with my Gmail account... Nothing like reality to restore confidence in reality.
