Graduation approaches... and everyone knows it

Tomorrow we begin the festivities to celebrate graduation, and to be honest I am quite excited. This is the kind of stuff I've dreamed about for more than the last four years--I'm actually the first person in my family to graduate with a four-year degree (and I'm pretty proud of that).

Tonight, though, I was chilling out for a little, playing Animal Crossing on Mike's Nintendo DS and the strangest thing happened... From time to time the animals on the game--the "neighbors"--will give presents to the players (namely, in our little neighborhood, Mike and I). One little squirrel named Peanut gave me a graduation gown.

I couldn't believe it! I sat there in disbelief for a moment and then showed Mike and Stephan. It was strangest because the game knows day and night, as well as the time (we're not sure about the phases of the moon, but we know it doesn't do weather)--there is no way that the game could have known that THIS Saturday I was graduating from college... No way whatsoever (not mentioning that because of my insane schedule I haven't been able to play for about the past three weeks... but then again, maybe that was the tip-off, haha).

So anyway, Animal Crossing knows I'm graduating. And so does everyone else...

I'm looking forward to it more than most things I've looked forward to in my life. Not sure precisely why that is, but I know that it's true.

Squirrels, as I've always said, are the best and most amazing of creatures. Peanut, albeit in a virtual world, is still one of them. I am not surprised whatsoever. :-D

LOL! I love it, Amanda. Your commitment as a squirrel-lover extends into the gaming world...

And as I graduate this morning I know you'll be in the audience. :-D
