Thoughts and reflections in a time of anticipation

What am I waiting for? Holiday celebrations, reunions, good feelings, and other various entities in life...

And so, in this time of severe anticipation, I bring you various points of interest. Not really connected in any other way except that they are encapsulated within the frame of my life. List format because I feel like it. More to come when I have a tad more time...

5) Never--under any circumstances--pack and move a Lite-Brite without placing the 300-odd multicolored light-up pegs in a container that closes securely. If you don't, and you encounter a situation similar to the one I have, I am not responsible for the outcome. Consider yourself warned.

4) Despite my recently acquired self-taught skills (Dreamweaver, et. al.) and my voracious appetite for reading material, I still itch to return to school. I know I'm not actually wasting time right now, doing what I'm doing, but it feels like it sometimes because I wish I was moving towards the larger goals I have for myself. At times I feel almost stagnant. Maybe that's why I've taken to teaching myself new things on what seems like almost a weekly basis.

Pray I get into grad school for the spring semester (they're dragging their feet right now, in my opinion). I'm pretty confident I'll get in, but I would much prefer to begin in the spring semester instead of waiting till fall.

3) Trixie loves snow way more than I anticipated. I will be posting a video of that just as soon as I can get someone else to either hold her leash or hold my camera. (It's dangerous to both my dog and my camera if I attempt to manage both at once.) Remember the "crackhead run"? Think that plus snow... it's amazing.

2) Recently having returned to my former state of "knitting maniac," I've come to recognize (perhaps remember?) exactly what I love so much about knitting: giving the things I make to others. My knitting frenzies seem to come on as predictably as annual snowfall--beginning in November as I synthesize ideas for gifts and begin my creations anew.

I recently learned to knit cables (the braid-like things usually on sweaters). I can't post pictures till after Christmas (or a friend's surprise may be ruined!). I will post pictures though--rest assured. This is an accomplishment that deserves documentation.

1) I love freelancing, despite the sometimes heart attack that results from waiting on checks in the mail. I feel like I'm using and gaining skills as I go, really working myself into a nice rhythm of writing, editing, and web designing. At least I get to be creative...!
