A welcome green haze
I drove home from eating dinner with Mike last night and actually got to enjoy being in my car for the first time in awhile: windows cracked just enough to let a breeze tousle my hair, my music du jour played just loud enough to be heard over the sound of the windows slicing the air, and everywhere I looked there were signs of spring.
The new, and greener, grass sticks out from the weather-worn, muddy, compost-like muck. Little patches of color announce the arrival of crocuses, buttercups, tulips, and forsythias. The sun had yet to dip below the horizon, but the sky was streaked with a watercolor spectrum foretelling the beautiful Monday in store. And, of course, looking through the trees--dead wood for months now--I saw a welcome green haze of budding leaves.
You might say I'm glad that spring has finally arrived. I might say it too. :)
