My first scholarly publication!
Working Papers in Composition and TESOL, May 2008
IUP's online C&T journal selected the life story interview I did for publication! The paper was the result of a project I did in ENGL 729/829 Second Language Acquisition.
Projects from five MA students were selected (the others are Handoyo Puji Widodo [from Indonesia] Patricia Hankins, Amanda LaBreque, and Tatsuno Chinen [from Japan]) along with projects from five Ph.D. students for issue 4.
I'm elated!

Thanks so much, guys. :) I was just thinking about the irony of how I went from being excited when someone else linked to me on my blog, to being excited to be published and actually paid to write, to being excited for being published in another online venue and not being paid for it (but being able to use it as a line on my vita eventually...). They feel like stages of some sort.

Hi, for sure, Karissa, I do understand you are really delighted with your first scholarly publication. I had the same feeling as you did when I got my scholarly article published in one of the New Zealand's peer-reviewed international journals. Please do keep the good work academically and professionally. I look forward to your extended scholarship!
