Training rocks
I won't be able to say much more about it, but I'm digging the training I'm getting at my new job! Today I attended a session on SGML and XML. Given: I taught myself HTML and CSS as I went through college, mostly for my blog, and I got my first taste of formal training in EL236. However, today was geared specifically towards my job and really answered a lot of questions I had about how to do what I will need to do.
I'm pretty pumped to have so much knowledge at my fingertips. The teacher for the class gave us this huge reference book that has exercises to see what we've learned and other helpful things. I know there were people who were pretty bored with the training, but I am quite pleased.
Needless to say, my sponsor (who happens to be a SHU alum!) is earning herself a terrific reputation among my fellow newbies--I get to go to training specific to my discipline and they have to stay in the newbie training. Hehe... I'll go to more training on SGML and XML tomorrow and Thursday too. Woo!
