Formal training

So after years of playing around with HTML and CSS on my own I'm finally taking real courses on the stuff courtesy of the company I work for.

I had a little instruction in the Writing for the Internet course at SHU--the book we used has great basics and I still have it as a reference for stuff that just doesn't stick in my brain. But now that I'm taking courses I'm actually starting to compile all the miscellaneous things I've learned over the years and see them as a whole skill set. It's kind of exciting.

I took the HTML course this past Monday and Tuesday, and my CSS course is scheduled for October 22 and 23. The courses are web-based through Webucator. The headset kinda hurts my ears, but it's not a bad class set up overall.

I already had training in SGML when I first began, so now that I'll have a better grip on HTML and CSS I think I'll be able to combine all my skills to be able to do the things I'll need to do for my job! (That was probably their point in signing me up for all this training... but it's nice to know that at least I had a starting knowledge of the things I'm now formally learning again.)
