A different kind of portfolio
As a final project for the course I'm taking right now, we're assembling portfolios. Having graduated from SHU, I know a thing or two about these... I did loads of portfolios in my undergraduate years!
One of the requirements for the portfolio is to collect news articles relating to our interests in language, grammar, and linguistics. I've kept up with news feeds thanks to Google, but I've got quite a collection of reads. Printing all of that would be crazy: reams of paper, buckets of ink, and time I don't really have to wait for my inkjet to spit out two pages per minute.
I asked my teacher last week if she would accept an e-portfolio. She was thrilled with the idea. She took my point about saving paper best, I think. I'm happy to save some trees.
So, in homage to my multiple blog portfolios, I have used my blog space to host the portfolio I've assembled for my American English Grammar course. It's not done yet, but feedback is welcome (and appreciated!).

I dig it! I'm grateful that you had the news pages load in separate windows so I didn't have to navigate back to your blog after each click.

I like your color palette. The "Welcome" green bar is the same color as the "About" bar -- I can understand the reason why you did that, but at the same time it breaks the pattern you have on all the other pages. Maybe just leave the background of the "Welcome" box white, to tie it in with the background of the "Portfolio" link?

I like the color changes you suggested, Dr. Jerz. I think I might have to work with that since I didn't really use white anywhere else. I think that might make the visual connection I was shooting for.

Fixed the white background color! Let me know what you think now, if you don't mind.
