The true return to academic blogging
I speculated before, but now the time has come: Karissa and Sugarpacket will return to academic blogging.
I'm in my final semester of graduate school at IUP in the M.A. TESOL program. I'm taking two courses, and (as I may have mentioned before) I am fortunate that my teachers are giving me what I'm calling the "small school treatment" by allowing me to do my coursework independent of attending class. The two courses I'm taking are scheduled 2:30-5, one on Tuesday and the other on Wednesday, but I work full-time (7-4:30), so it's impossible for me to attend.
My one class, Practicum in TESOL (ENGL 688), requires weekly journal entries to help students learn through writing. Students who attend class will share their journals with each other. I, however, will share my journals here. While my audience is not the same as my classmates', I hope to engage a few of my readers in this forum I know and love (I know you're out there!).
The concept of journaling is familiar to me, and I hope to put it to use. It may have a different spin, though, on my blog... because the concept of blogging might be more familiar to me than that of journaling.
Thanks to my teacher, Dr. Hayward, for allowing me to do this and supporting me in my independent coursework (as well as my thesis!).
Look for more posts from me, blogosphere! Feel free to comment and question, too!
