Take
Free Myers-Briggs Personality Test

I don't know that I believe this, but if this quiz reflects my personality,
it might actually explain my extreme interest in proxies and my personal search
for truth.

I am NOT Dave Eggers

I just thought it was necessary to clarify that I am certainly not the man
pictured at the left; this may come as a surprise to the "strangers" lurking on
my blog.

That man is Dave Eggers. I am Kate Cielinski, and I assure you that I am a
woman. I'm merely a Dave Eggers fan. Well, fan might be an
underestimation...

In other Eggers news, McSweeney's #12
will be distributed later this week! A pilgrimage to Jay's Bookstall must be
made!

A letter to my blog

Dear Blog,

I'm writing you to express my concerns about our relationship. For quite a while, we were getting along so well. But lately, I must admit that communication between us has been one-sided. I've been doing an awful lot of work to maintain our relationship, and you refuse to cooperate with me. You've been quite selfish. Blog, I'm hurt.

I understand you've been experiencing mood swings. Oh, heaven knows I suffer them too. However, I don't feel it's quite fair for me to suffer as a result of your wacky emotions. You see, if you need some time to yourself every once and a while, that's fine. I can save my posts and submit them at a better time. However, when you start affecting my timeliness and my homework, I must stand my ground.

Thursday night, I tried to post Friday's homework assignment, but no, Blog, you just wouldn't hear of it. And when I tried again, TWICE, Friday morning, you were too busy or lazy to make time for me. Hey, this isn't just about you. Dr. Jerz could lower my grade if you don't cooperate with me on this. I don't demand much of you, especially now that I have less free time on my hands. All I ask of you is that you behave and work with me.

I realize that criticizing you in an open forum may be a bit harsh, but I thought that other misbehaving blogs could look at you as an example of the consequences that come to bad blogs. Please forgive me if I've been cruel in my words. I simply wish to repair our fractured relationship.

Your dedicated blogger,
Kate
