The Bridge Builder

This just shows how ignorant people can be. I was very upset that her entire family rejected her, I think that they should be happy because she has found someone that makes her happy in life. The issue within the church also bothers me but there isn't much that can be done with the issue of homosexuality in church. I think churches should have the right to deny gay marriage, but I think if the women had tried to get married in today's society they would be even more enraged than in 1985. I guess my agenda item would be how it is hard for people to accept other people who may be different even in today's society where it is normal to see women on television wearing almost nothing or where people express their individuality in very weird ways.

Question Of Value:

I believe people should have the right to do what makes them happy and should not get shunned. I have no problem with this lifestyle, many of my closet friends are homosexual or bisexual and from my point of view they seem extremely happy.

I agree with you. I do not think that people should be making decisions for others. They aren't living everyone else's lives, so why act as if they are by setting limits as to what they can and cannot do. Being gay is a decision made by those specific individuals, and they need to be accepted for who they are. Our society is way too close-minded and we need to begin to accept different ways of life.

You would think that this country would be a bit more open because of the media but obviously not. This country should accept everyone for who they are not how they vote or what their social status is but its hard for people to become more open to new things when the older generations tell us not to.

I'm not sure if anyone thought of this and this is kinda in my blog, but what about these children. Not only the main characters children but the children of the community...What example is this family and church making. I think it's horrible how someones ignorance will allow them to actually affect a family, and community. I understand this concept that women were supposed to be only with men, but that was way back when, when people were looking for witches...it is horrible that people will do this to someone. Being a Catholic myself, I feel that often people are not given a fair chance. I don't know but I think people should start opening their eyes because if this continues it will be pathetic.

Excellent point, the kids of commmunity see all of this hatred for people who are "different". Some of these kids will grow up to not look people for the way they dress, act, or their sexuality, which is something that people should be aware of and should stop their ignorance.

I agree with ur comment about people should do what makes them happy and I also do not have a problem with homosexuals. But its more a question of your faith. Catholicism definetly is not the Religion you want to be if you are a homosexual
