I feel that Bebe was so angry with Sandra and what she had said about her father building her a dollhouse but she took it out on Miss Bradley. I feel that it would be very difficult not having a stable father figure in life. She used this envy toward Sandra's father being there thoughout her life and transfered her feelings toward Miss Bradley. I think that Bebe wanted to take her anger out on her father but he was not there.
Posted by Kayla Lukacs at February 4, 2005 01:10 AM | TrackBackI agree with you Kayla. I think that Bebe's father not being there for her throughout her life eventually caught up to her. She took her anger out on the others around her and I feel that Miss Bradley and Sandra were just innocent by-standers to Bebe's emotional breakdown.
Posted by: Amanda Herold at February 4, 2005 06:33 PMIt hurts not having that bond with a father and I think that is why she exploded on Miss Bradley because she couldn't find anyone else to blame
Posted by: Kayla Lukacs at February 6, 2005 11:58 AMKinda responding to what Amanda and Kayla said ---I think the main reason Bebe exploded on Miss Bradley was because she was a person Bebe trusted. It's much easier to exploded on someone you trust than a complete stranger. She possibly might have felt more comfortable exploding on her teacher than her mother because her mother never brought up the subject.
Having a father or any parent for that matter not in the picture is hard for any child at a young age. I think Bebe was not only envious at the fact that Sandra had a father but because her father did things with her and she seemed to be a bit wealthier. (At least thats the impression I got). So there were many factors on why Bebe could have been upset.
Posted by: Jen Sherbo at February 6, 2005 01:55 PMI agree completely. This little girl didn't know she felt this way until it was bluntly brought to her attention. I do agree that she really probably wants to take this out on her father and is deep down mad that he isn't there in her life.
Posted by: Caroline Jones at February 7, 2005 09:15 PMKayla, i agree with you, growing up without a father, is not only challenging but can it can also be stressful in many ways, i think the girl felt so depressed because she did not have a father and as a result ended up acting the way she did.
Posted by: Chinazom Onubogu at February 8, 2005 12:35 AMIm not so sure I think that Bebe wanted to take her anger out on her father. I think that it was more along the lines of Bebe thinking that if she was bad, her father would come around to repremand her. She obviously has many issues with not having a father, she probably just never realized them. Obviously bebe was just taking anger out on Sandra and the teacher.
