could we reflect for a little? about a game?

This game had much to say about my ignorance with IF games. Although the story line made sense (to some degree or in my head at least), I could not get this game to work to my advantage. I was haunted throughout this game with phrases such as, "That's not a verb you need to use" and "Nothing like that seems to be around." I only made it to the gold level, because I became so frustrated playing this game.

Photopia, as I understood, is a compilation of stories. I did not win or lose this game within an hour, so I did not get the whole story line. At first I thought the older self of the frat boy was having flashbacks of good times and bad times within his life. Looking this game up on the internet, it says my theory is incorrect. If I ever defeat this game, I will have an understanding of the story lines and such.

Phrases like "that is not a verb you need to use" are kind of the lazy way out for the programmer, especially for a game like Photopia, built upon such radical concepts.

The creator of this game should have given more descriptive responses to verbs that are not necessary, such as "you can't climb it; there are no footholds," "that is too heavy to carry," etc.
