Over the past month I was stricken with an unbelievable case of writers block [I am not even sure that is what you would call it, but I have nothing better at this point]. Basically, I have had several great ideas for new blog entries and pop culture analyses, but have had neither the inspiration nor time to bring them to light and actually hit the publish button within Movable Type. Currently I have a Word document that is titled “blog notes” and it includes all of the things I keep meaning to blog about. I have even been in contact with a fellow blogger that is eagerly awaiting my comparison of Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse” to his other series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
There will be a specific focus on the father/daughter relationship that exists between Buffy Summers and her Watcher, Rupert Giles, and Echo/Caroline and her Handler, Boyd Langton. The dynamic between Slayers and Watchers is remarkably similar to that of Actives and Handlers. There is so much to talk about and from the research I already completed it appears that not many other people have yet to explore this topic. Alas, that is only a taste of the real work I would like to accomplish over the next few months. I have been contemplating revising some of my early BTVS work and pursuing publication or at least trying to present some of it at a Buffy convention if possible. I am currently looking into meeting up with a group called the Washington Whedonites at their next meeting on April 9, 2009 to discuss my thoughts on all things Whedon.

That sounds great, Leslie. I'm often amazed at how complex fandom can get... (and reassured that it's not just Star Trek fans like me who get this way).
