I just have some guestions for anyone wanting to answer them.
Why do you think Blanche acted the was she acted?
What was the psychology behind Blanche?
How do you think you would have acted given Blanches past that affected her and caused her to act the way she acted?
I think Blanche was the way she was in the play because of her past. She was trying to get away from the image that was associated with her, she wanted to seem like she was very 'pure', etc. She was constantly being haunted by the type of person she was and she wanted to escape that. Also, another theory could be that she is in mourning of some sort for her dead husband. She claims that no one she met after his death was like him, therfore she was driven crazy because she cant find someone to feel the hole in her. She uses other things (alcohol, other men) to try to fill that hole, and then fails and tries to cover it up. I think this ongoing struggle is what made Blanche the way she was.
