Idea regarding Homecoming "News"

Well, in my effort to present a unique and original story idea, I was thinking about covering the "Parking Dilemma," especially over Homecoming weekend. The way I see it, with even more cars than usual on our beloved Hill, the tempers will be flaring, unless alternative parking space is designated. How about a weekend of zero, count 'em zero parking tickets, unless of course for stupidity, such as blocking entranceways, double parking and the like?

We are gonna have parents, alumni and all sorts of families showing up at the Hill to visit, and I have a feeling that with the Football team and everything else, this year will be the biggest yet. However, everything may go smoothly enough, and there will be ample space for everyone's vehicles, although given the commuter situation during the week, this "reporter" is thinking it may get a little crazy.

Anyways, what does everyone think of this idea?

I think that that is a fantastic idea. It's an angle that probably won't be looked at, yet the issue has the potential to influence the entire day. It'd be really great if you could get interviews from Campus Police and Jamie Steel before the weekend to see what they have to say about the situation and their plans, and then interview them after the event to see if their stories have changed at all. Also, reactions from parkers will also be helpful.

Great idea - I wish I had thought of it first!

Wow! That's an awesome concept, very original. After reviewing SHU events on it's website, Homecoming weekend will be packed with events. How will the campus conpensate for the additional community and students staying or returning to the college? Too, what kind of effects will this have on the events? Without the proper amount of parking, SHU won't be completely capable of "reaching out to the community." Good Luck uncovering that story!

Parking will be an interesting topic to cover since it is always a hot button on the Hill. Great idea!
