Texting is AMAZING!

Texting and emailing and Iming and all those ways of quick and easy communication are making their way into our everyday activities and way of talking and even writing.  As the New York Times article said, 2/3 of 700 students surveyed said their communication style "bled into their schoolwork." This happens very easily. Teenagers now a days walk around with the phone constantly in type mode...its never ending.  More and more of these texting 'lingos" come out and are used all day all the time.  Then when it comes down to finally putting the phone down for a few minutes to do some school work, your brain is still in texting mode because thats where its been for so long.  Forcing you to put "lol" or "ttyl" or anything like that...in places it shouldnt be.

After hearing this and thinking a little about it...some may say, "Oh thats no big deal" others may say "something needs to change." Well, Prof. Sterling who teaches at the University of California believes that in the future, capitolization will disappear. Could you even imagine that?  We have grown up and gone through years and years of school being told when and where we HAD to capitolize letters, and now people are starting to think it might disappear.  Its crazy to even think about.

I text ALLLLLL the time, like, its my life, but even I would be willing to start writing "proper" in my texts if I knew the way we did it now would change the world dramatically later.

Its definately something to think about.  After reading that article...try texting....and see if you even stop to think about putting a capitol letter or a comma where it belongs and spelling out all of your words.  Hmmmmmm.........
